Purple stars

Hi everyone,

I'm posting to apologise: I'm not going to be able to complete the last border on Andrea's quilt as I'm moving overseas next week. I've been so busy and so sick last year that I've not been able to keep up with everything. I admit the round robin has gone on a little longer than I'd anticipated, and I'm so sorry to let my side down. Maretta, I'll send you a message with my parents' address, so once my centre is done (no rush at all, I won't be back until 2013!) you can post it there.

Andrea, I'll post your centre back to you tomorrow, so look out for it in the mail.

Andrea's centre

Hello my friends and thank you all for your notes .... yes Im back on the internet and along with spring... well most things are looking up.

You have all been so supportive and patient.  Not long to go now!!!

To get a photo is a bit of a drama... so I will get back to you... but I have FINISHED the border on to Andrea's piece.

Ive had the fabric for my final border on Kate's star centre for ages.  Im starting today .... I dont want to make any promises but gosh Im hoping that I do a final post out to her this Wednesday and then Im done.

Have a great day.

Round Robin Quilt Border 3

Hi all,

I've finally done the third border on this centre. I can't apologise enough for how late this is, it's been weighing on my conscience for a long time too. I was so sick last year that not much got done around the place - now that my youngest is at school and I'm healthier, I'm getting things under control again.

Here's what mountainsnow sent to me:

I hope you all like it. I'll be sending it off to selinde2 ASAP, I'm just confirming that the address I have for her is still the best one to post to.

I'm not sure where we're up to in this, it's been so long. I know I haven't yet seen selinde2's centre.

Hope you're all well,

4th Border

I have finally finished the 4th border on mountainsnow 's centre. This just did not want to come into existence - lucky I had other things I need to get on with so had reason to force myself!

Here's its evolution:

it is now on its way to mountainsnow , so hopefully the next time we see it it will be a completed quilt!

I've got it

Just thought I'd mention that I got Fiona's centre in the mail during the week so thanks Andrea.
It's so beautiful! If I'm honest I have to admit it's a little daunting but I'm up for the challenge.
Wish me luck!

I posted the fishy quilt with my border on it. I did! I really did! But I got it back last night - the address I used last time didn't work. Could someone please help me? Maffra address clearly wrong.... :(

Sewing machines

I've been a hand quilter since day one but eyesight problems are suggesting to me that it is time to start machine quilting. I'm therefore looking at buying my first sewing machine. Because I don't know if I am going to like quilting like this I don't want to spend a lot of money of this machine. I am thinking Janome but would like to know what you think. I would also like to know what questions I should ask when buying this machine. Does anyone have any suggestions?
